A symposium for composers at the Red Room, Composition Peer Discussion provides an intimate public space for local composers to discuss their work and get feedback. Open to everyone. Performers are especially welcome.

At a peer discussion event you listen to recordings and view scores of local composers. You discuss the music, ask questions, and delve more deeply into what works and what does not. Dependent on time, we look at the work of as many composers present as we can. This event lasts about two hours with a break.

If you are a composer who would like to present your work, follow these guidelines.

  • Visit https://forms.gle/jiWc5hvRprX1krMy5 to upload your score or performance instructions or provide links to them. For scores, PDF works best.
  • For large ensemble works, please bring hard copies of the score if possible.
  • Try to keep the music you want to share less than 20 minutes long. Excerpt as needed.
  • Upload or provide a link to a recording or playback of your music. Please, indicate if we can post a link on the Red Room site for others to study before they come.

This month, we will meet remotely through a video chatroom. You can connect with us at 7:30PM, April 27 here: https://meet.google.com/zsv-kouq-bwz
