Neil Feather and Kristen Toedtman play a series of improvised short pieces, some with text drawn from Feather, Toedtman and Blaster Al Ackerman and played on violin, voice and invented instruments.  The duo come together steeped in more than a decade of friendship, collaboration and joke telling. From this groundwork of good humor, they stand eye to eye with their minds and hearts keen on telling stories and experiencing this one moment in the arc of their long friendship.

That’s not it! We have a trio of amazing local performers gathered from three separate musical subcultures: percussionist April Camlin; saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Jessica Keyes; and collector of Native American flutes Dave Benham.

April Camlin is a percussionist, labor artist, weaver, educator, and ventriloquist. Her work focuses on the transcendent power of polyrhythmic repetition, both on the drums and at the loom. She has performed, recorded, and toured extensively with her project Wume. She also plays drums in Persephone, an improvisational poetry-driven group. She spent four years studying Central Javanese gamelan in Chicago, and first began playing the drums in her middle school band.

Jessica is a Baltimore-based performer and composer. Her compositions explore trickster characters, ecstatic energy, and communion with the audience. She leads Bedlam Brass, an anti-marching band that pops up with original music in unexpected places, and is a member of Trucker Talk, an experimental chamber ensemble that provides live music for puppet shows and other collaborative performances.
