Nicloas Field & Gregor Vidic Duo

It is now four years that saxophonist Gregor Vidic and drummer Nicolas Field began their musical collaboration. Their constantly evolving music is the result of an interaction between improvisation and spontaneous composition, mainly influenced by Free Jazz and current European improvised music. The duo has managed to construct a discourse that fluctuates around the tradition of Jazz and Modern and Contemporary music.

Since the beginning of 2015, the two musicians, drawn towards each other through their strong interest in improvisation and sound exploration, began to play together. The duo quickly started to tour, first in their own country in Switzerland, then in Europe and Japan. During their concerts, they have collaborated with musicians such Albert Cirera (saxophones), Hugo Antunes (double bass), Flo Stoffner (guitar) , Jasper Stadhouders (guitar, bass), Ingebrigt Haker Flaten (bass, double bass), Markus Krispel (saxophones), Dirar Kalash (saxophones, piano, oud, electronics), PeĢter Ajtai (double bass), Leo Svirsky (piano, harmonica), Tetuzi Akiyama (guitar), Junji Hirose (saxophones), Yasuhiro Yoshigaki (drums) among others. In Japan the duo recorded with the guitar player Tetuzi Akiyama and are now putting the final touches on that recording.
