Brussels based guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe will perform an entire set of works by Anthony Braxton, titled Ghost Trance Solos.

Ghost Trance Music explores the full extend of Anthony Braxton’s Ghost Trance Music-compositions in the context of a solo performance. To do this I developed an intuitive set-up of loops and live-electronics to generate what Braxton refers to as “a field of activities”, a typical GTM feature where several layers of musical material develop simultaneously and spontaneously.

bio:

After his studies in Antwerp, Ghent and New York City, guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe has played concerts all over the world as a member of the electric guitar quartet Zwerm and the Nadar ensemble, in addition to solo and duo concerts as well as numerous freelance activities with several international groups. In recent years he extensively toured his solo-project No [More] Pussyfooting with live-reconstructions of studio-albums by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. He was a fellow of the Akademie Schloss Solitude with his duo Oh Mensch with Matthias Koole. His first solo-album “Give My Regards to 116th Street” (Carrier Records) was described as “beautifully conceived and realized in palpably real audio, this is end of year chart material for sure.” by The Wire Magazine. Kobe is currently also active as a research fellow at the Antwerp Conservatory, doing research on the music of Anthony Braxton.

Baltimore-based percussionist/performer Adam Rosenblatt works in the margins between music, theater, and performance art. He’s recently performed at the Bregenz Festspiele in Austria, Festival Musica in Strasbourg, and Maschinenhaus Theater in Essen. He is currently an artist in residence at Creative Alliance in Baltimore.
Adam will bring his body, a tape track, Wii remotes, and a drumset to Redroom for a short solo set.
