Eva Zöllner, born in Germany in 1978, was educated as classical accordionist at the Academy of Music Cologne and at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. She is one of the most active accordionists of her generation and devotes herself to contemporary music. As soloist and versatile chamber musician she tours the world between Iceland, Tierre del Fuego, Australia and Japan and appears in productions ranging from experimental solo performances to concerts with renowned contemporary music ensembles. An important part of her activity is the close cooperation with composers. In the last few years she has premiered more than 100 new works for accordion. Lately she has been particularly interested in the potential of the accordion within electroacoustic music and multimedia art. EAR, NOSE and THROAT An electronics trio comprised of Jason Willett, Max Eilbacher and M.C. Schmidt. Performing in quadrophonic sound this trio is of diverse backgrounds, Jason Willett is a veteran of many years of “rock in opposition” having served time as a multi-instrumentalist with Chris Cutler, Jac Berrocal, James Chance, Jon Rose, Michael Evans, Ron Anderson, Benb Gallaher, Mick Hobbs and many more. He has been instrumental in creating over 50 released albums. Here he works primarily with experimental electronic devices many of which were designed and built by local genius Peter Blasser. Max Eilbacher, is a relatively young synthesist and video artist who has already toured the U.S. several times with various “noise” ensembles, including his own “Needle Gun” (voted “best live band in Baltimore” in 2012), Teeth Mountain and currently plays solo and with avant rock group “Horse Lords”. His last LP was issued by Viennese taste makers MEGO. M.C. Schmidt is a member of the electronic duo Matmos, reknowned for “marrying the conceptual tactics and noisy textures of object-based musique concrete to a rhythmic matrix rooted in electronic pop music”. Since 1995 they have released 12 albums on the Matador and Thrill Jockey labels.
