Jessica Keyes is a Baltimore-based performer and composer. Her compositions explore trickster characters, ecstatic energy, and communion with the audience. Her current solo project, Patien(t/ce) explores her experience with disability using homemade fiber controllers and modular synth. Jessica leads a 12-piece punk brass band called Bedlam Brass and co-organizes Mid-Atlantic Wilderness, a series of improvised music.
Once true swamp and now Midwestern ennui, Gabi Vanek is a bassoonist who exists in a world of harsh noise and drone/doom. She has played as a soloist and ensemble member at small and large festivals, conferences, and series including the Darmstädter Internationale Ferienkurse, International Double Reed Society, Oh My Ears, Feed Me Weird Things, and exhibited at the Osaka University of the Arts Electro-Acoustic Music Festival. More likely you’ll find her making noises in more “unconventional” spaces, like your local dive bar.
