Three intimate SOLO sets to make your Tuesday tingle all over! $10SS

Christopher Icasiano and Andy Clausen, Seattle, WA

Drummer Christopher Icasiano and Trombonist Andy Clausen started collaborating in Seattle’s vibrant improvised music scene more than a decade ago, and more recently have toured extensively as part of the dreamily harmonious Indie Folk band Fleet Foxes. For this special event, each musician will present a set from a recent solo project – Icasiano’s “Provinces” and Clausen’s “Few Ill Words: Solo Trombone at The TANK, Vol. 1” – as well as new collaborative material together.

Shelly Purdy

High Zero’s own, the devilishly inventive percussionist Shelly Purdy, will open with a solo set on gendèr barung – an Indonesian metallophone common to gamelan music. The playing technique is as fascinating as the sound. Experience both up close for maximum benefit. Maybe you’ll leave the show as nigh imperturbable as Shelly.
