NOT HAPPENING THIS SUNDAY! CHECK BACK FOR A NEW DATE

A special outside performance of Samuel Burt’s new composition Battle Hymn for the Wildwood will occur along a stretch of Stony Run west of Johns Hopkins University. Patrick Crossland (trombone), Liz Prince (tuba), and Justin Sabe (tuba) will vibrate the valley with the sounds of low brass.

Battle Hymn for the Wild Wood explores the sounds of large instruments in an expansive space. The performers will spread across the far side of Stony Run in Baltimore. This 20-minute composition represents the anthem of the trees, too slow for human comprehension, a centuries-long song to overcome the threats posed to the forest.

The prediction is beautiful weather, so make your way down the path where Gilman Terrace meets Remington Avenue and assemble along Stony Run under the shade of trees in the midst of quiet birdsong and the babbling stream. Be on time! This performance will start soon after 6pm.
